The Global Warming activists seem to have taken the playbook from the Evolutionists.
It’s a tricky thing to attempt to convince a majority of the population that your claims are facts when there is no factual evidence to support those claims.
The Evolution movement and the current day Global Warming movement share a lot of similarities. Evolution was introduced by scientists, advanced by politicians, and popularized by the media.
The greatest majority of the scientists who promoted Darwinism where archeologists and biologists that where earning a good living by studying the theory. The same is true of the scientists and climatologists today that are promoting Global Warming. If either theory was perceived as being unlikely then the funding would dry up. So there is an obvious incentive of self preservation and personal enrichment to keep these theories moving forward. As with most things concerning men, just follow the money.
Much of the funding for the studies of both of these theories come directly from the US government. Much more has come indirectly from the US government through universities. So the universities have an obvious incentive to promote the theories so that the grant money doesn’t dry up. Most of the universities have become increasingly hostile towards professors that say anything to question Darwinism. Some have been fired for simply mentioning Intelligent Design. While I am not an Intelligent Design fan (it leaves Jesus out) it is obvious that the universities don’t even want a seed planted that there may be other reasonable options. They want Darwinism promoted as a fact instead of a theory and no other possibilities even mentioned. We now are starting to see the same sort of hostility towards those who question the Global Warming theory.
The Darwinists who were getting paid to promote the theory claimed a consensus among all credible scientists. The only consensus has been among those who collect money from it. In fact there are just as many credible scientists that acknowledge major problems with the theory. Darwin himself said that the theory was only credible if the fossil record supported it. To date it doesn’t even come close. The fossil record in fact supports the Bible’s account of Creation. But we can’t let the truth get in the way of progress.
An associated article, The Evolutionists, makes a strong case for Creationism by outlining the major problems with the evolution theory. We seem to see the same attitude and the same claims these days by the Global Warmers. They claim a consensus among all credible scientists. Many renowned climatologists have called it a complete hoax.
Over the decades there have been two tactics the Darwinists have used simultaneously, day after day, month after month, decade after decade to bring Darwinism to where it is in the United States today. The first is to portray any non believers as ignorant, stupid, uninformed and backwards. If you don’t believe in evolution it is the equivalent of believing the earth is flat. The second is to present their theory as a proven fact. They continue to stubbornly state that their theory is proven beyond a doubt even when the evidence doesn’t support it. Even when the actual evidence disputes it.
We see the exact same method being used today by the Global Warming promoters. The Earth has in fact been cooling since 1998. The Global Warming scientists have been trying to cover up that fact as well as many others that don’t promote their agenda. When they are confronted they dismiss the unwanted facts as insignificant. In short, they just ignore anything that doesn’t help their cause. That's not science, that's an agenda.
These tactics as used by the Darwinists have had a considerable effect on certain groups. Those who indeed are unaware of the facts and don’t realize the lack of evidence begin to believe the propaganda that the theory is a fact. The Academics (teachers, professors, School Administrators, etc.) didn’t want to be viewed as ignorant or backwards by others. The Elites in the media have always wanted to be seen as progressive and forward thinking so they supported and promoted the theory even though there has been no hard evidence to back it up.
The politicians and the judiciary didn’t want to be portrayed as ignorant by the media. So they started promoting and supporting the theory. It is almost surreal that most politicians in the US claim to be Christians and then in the next breath say we should only teach evolution in the schools and not allow a mention of or a prayer to our Creator. They try to cover up the inconsistencies in their positions by using the separation of Church and State argument. But they don’t seem to raise an eyebrow if an elementary class is studying the Islamic religion. Aside from that, and most disturbing, they don’t seem to have a problem with teaching our children Evolution as scientific fact when they presumably don’t believe it is scientific fact. Why would anyone want to teach our children things that aren’t true?
Then there are many politicians who promote false theories strictly for ideological reasons. First of all, Christianity promotes individual freedom, personal responsibility, and holding others accountable for their actions. This doesn’t sit well with many politicians for the same reasons that communist countries want to limit a strong Christian influence. It keeps the politicians from acquiring more power for themselves. An ignorant population with no moral compass will believe what they are told by their leaders.
So, as a result of the tactics used by the Darwinists we now have God and the Gospel banned from our schools and the public square and Evolution taught as fact. We also see the exact same tactics in use by the Global Warmers with, to some degree, the same results. My hope is that the increased skepticism of the media and the politicians by the population will prevent a repeat of the Darwinists success story. The improved access to information through the internet and through more diverse media outlets may also play an important role.
The theory of evolution is in direct conflict with the Word of God by contradicting the Bible’s account in Genesis. The Global Warming theory is equally in conflict with the Bible. Genesis 8:22 says ;
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
This quite clearly tells us that the Lord is in control of the climate and the seasons as well as day and night. It seems extremely arrogant to think that we can control or change what God has created. It is equally arrogant to think we can somehow change what God has already told us would happen. It is almost as arrogant and self serving as thinking that the life we have, the life around us, and the resources we have could just appear from nothing.
With the current Climate-Gate scandal, the continued use of doctored data by the Global Warmers as well as the politicians, they must think we are already ignorant and uninformed enough to believe anything they tell us. Many have called this the biggest scientific hoax and scandal in history. I still think the Evolution theory tops Climate Gate is the biggest scientific hoax in history.
