In 1526 the first translation of the New Testament appeared in English. It was translated by William Tyndale.

The Great Bible was the first authorized edition of the Bible in English, authorized by King Henry VIII of England.   The Great Bible was translated by  Myles Coverdale in 1539, working under commission of Sir Thomas Cromwell, Secretary to Henry VIII and Vicar General.  The Great Bible was severely flawed because much of it was translated from the Latin Vulgate, rather than from the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.

The Church of England commissioned an English translation referred to as the Bishops Bible of 1568.  The "Bishops' Bible" was a revision of the Great Bible done by several bishops of the Church of England under the direction of Queen Elizabeth's Archbishop, Matthew Parker.

Starting in July of 1604 and completed in 1611 an English translation of the Old and New Testaments was authorized by King James I of England.  The Authorized King James Version quickly became the standard for English speaking Christians.  When King James appointed his translation team he chose approximately 50 of the best linguists and scholars of the time. This team is arguably the best team of English scholars of all time.

This team was committed to an English version of the Bible that would be a precise translation of the original manuscripts.  As well as being English scholars they where also  fully familiar with the original languages of the Bible.  As well as being linguists and scholars King James chose men who were spiritually dedicated Christians.

The King James 1611  Authorized Version, also called the King James Version, or King James Authorized Version, has been the preferred version of English speaking protestants for almost 400 years.  The impact of this translation on our cultures, our literature, and our lives over the last 4oo years is un-measurable.  It is estimated that well over a billion copies if this translation are currently in circulation.  This remarkable book is without a doubt the best preserved literary work of all time.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God.  For any who doubt this just read 2 Timothy 3:16.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

While the Bible is not the only book that claims divine inspiration it is the only book that has considerable evidence to back up the claim.   The fulfillment of Bible prophecy is without a doubt evidence that would hold up in any legitimate court attesting to it’s accuracy.  Seeing the future with such accuracy can only come from divine inspiration.

Examples of this are so numerous that we can’t list many of them here.  Just think about Ezekiel's prophecies about God’s coming judgment against the city of  Tyre (Ezekiel, chapter 26).  Also Jeremiahs’ prophecy concerning the judgment against Israel.    These are only a couple of examples of many.  No man could predict so many things so far in the future with such accuracy.

To this day no scientific discovery, archeological find, or world event has discounted the accuracy of the scripture.
