For Christians with a busy schedule, and we all have busy schedules, the audio bible is a good way to do your bible reading while you’re getting ready in the mornings.
Or in your car during the commute to and from work.
We would all like be disciplined enough to read through the bible completely in a year. Many of us try to achieve this but time seems to get away from us. This is a good way to help yourself accomplish that goal.
This is also a great gift for those who aren’t yet children of God. Let me tell you a personal story. Almost 20 years ago I was in the hospital. I had some major medical issues and ultimately was in the hospital for 3 months. During the early part of this ordeal I was unable to get out of the bed and was only partially lucid. I also wasn’t able to read because of vision problems.
My wife and I had a set of cassette tapes with the Bible on them. This was before CD’s or MP3’s where out. It seems they had belonged to my Grandmother before she died.
So my wife would put a tape into the cassette player for me before she went home. At this point in my life I was an agnostic. I wasn’t a believer. I became a child of God before I left the hospital. Needless to say I think these tapes played an important role in my acceptance of the Gospel.
The Word of God is a powerful thing. It does the Lord’s bidding whether it is in printed form or another media.

Alexander Scourby has a dramatic and moving narration of the Bible that has touched and inspired the hearts of millions. Best known for his magnificent voice, Scourby was a noted Broadway Shakespearean actor, a radio and movie actor, and narrator of classic TV documentaries. One of his greatest achievements, however, was narrating the Bible. This recording project that took over a year to complete.
